King James Bible

Last updated 4/11/17

One should have no confidence in any translation or interpretation of the Bible made by a man who does not believe this is the very word of God. A minister in southern California said, “We might as well trust a lunatic for a lawyer, a quack for a physician, a wolf for a sheepdog, an alligator for a baby sitter, or a rapist for a Girl Scout leader, as to trust a modernist’s translation of the word of God or proclamation of the word of God.”

The translators of the KJB were the only ones who set out to do and did do a word by word translation. All others are interpretations. The above quote applies to their interpreters.

The new food and the new place

“And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day. And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year (Joshua 5:11-12).”

These verses have a spiritual message for us today. The old nature is no good. The old nature cannot inherit spiritual blessing. The old nature will not like Canaan, nor anything in the heavenlies. In Galatians 5.17, Paul says, “For the flesh lusteth [wars] against the flesh: and these are contrary one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” Paul found that there was no good in the old nature. He also discovered that there is no power in the new nature (see Romans 7). The power, as we are told in Romans 8, is in God.

Manna was a picture of Christ, as we are told in the New Testament. “Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world (John 6:49-51).” Manna represents Christ in his death. He is the One who came down to this earth “to give his life a ransom for many.”

The children of Israel complained about manna, but manna is exciting food. Ms. Moses may have gotten out a cook book – Mother Moses Cook Book: 100 ways to fix manna.

That manna is very important, by the way, but here, over Jordan, the manna ceased. And here is old corn. There are a great many people today that live on testimonies. Once one is saved and has become a member of a New Testament church, a testimony is good to give to unsaved people, but when all Christians do is live on testimonies, what are they living on, they are living on manna. They love manna. It’s exciting wonderful  food; but my friend, if you ever enter into Canaan, the place of spiritual warfare, and lay hold of spiritual blessings, you’re going to stop eating manna and you are going to start eating old corn. You know what the old corn is? It is the word of God. All the way from Genesis to Revelation, 66 books, all of it. And that is old corn. That is what the Bible dishes out, old corn. Many people don’t like old corn.

When Israel arrived in Canaan, the manna ceased, and they began to eat the old corn of the land. They got tired of that, the old corn. It gets pretty monotonous, especially if you have been eating manna all along. A great many people today are not interested in Bible study. It does not take them long to get away from Bible teaching. Many pastors are complemented on their Bible teaching, and people say that church is sure anchored to the word of God. Is it? As seen many times, the pastor, the Bible teacher, leaves and the people make themselves a golden calf, and they start dancing around it. They put in new methods and new programs. What happens? They get away from the word of God. Old corn may not seem as exciting as it could be, but God wanted them to have old corn now and let the manna alone, he is not going to feed them with that any longer.

Many believers today are wandering in the wilderness, or maybe poised on the banks of the Jordan afraid to trust God to see them safely across into the land, which is not into heaven, but into the land of spiritual battle and conquest. The apostle Paul tells us to put on the whole armour of God in preparation for battle against the evil one and to enter into the promised spiritual blessings that we have in Christ (Ep. 6). Ephesians 6 tells us how to stand against Satan. Romans 8 tells us how to live the Christian life God’s way. Let me ask you, have you crossed over Jordan?

If you are just living on manna today, you will never grow up. It will sustain you in the wilderness, but if you are going to enter into your spiritual blessings, you will have to start eating the old corn. Many believers need to change their diet today.

SBC take HE/SHE out of new Bible

The King James Bible, the authority relied upon by Jerald Finney, is the word of God in English. It can be relied upon for all matters of faith and practice, including the doctrine of salvation, the walk of the believer after salvation, and the motive and goal of the believer. It is the underlying standard for everything Jerald Finney writes and believes. Of course, he looks at American law and historical fact outside the Bible when the Bible does not supply details of history. For example, the Bible covers all of history from beginning to end. However, facts about that history, as they have occurred and continue to occur, verify the authenticity and accuracy of the KJB 100%.

On Origen and his place in the modern perversions of the Bible – The origin of the modern perversions and the KJB explained in the following short presentations:

Today, someone e-mailed me the following question: Why do you feel so strongly about the King James Bible?

My answer was as follows:

You ask a very important question that is not quickly answered in its entirety. I have studied this issue for years, mainly through listening to those who have devoted their lives to studying it. I have read several books that deal with the issue. Let me give you just a very small sampling of my reasons.

Before I begin, let me refer you to: King James Bible Page which will give more information. Also, you may want to look at my online book review of The Word: God Will Keep It.

One related argument is: “Only the originals are divinely taught.” That argument is really ludicrous, because it does not take into account that there are no originals nor does it take into account God. If only the originals are divinely inspired, there is no word of God. However, that God can reproduce his word, even if it is destroyed, lost or decomposes – should be evident to a born again believer. Those who make the argument that only the originals are inspired have a small god, not the God of the Bible. See Jeremiah 36 for witness to the power of God when man attempts to destroy it. God has preserved his word through men. See below.

(1) First and foremost, I believe the Bible, and I am totally convinced that the KJB is the Bible in English.

(2) All English Versions except the KJB (at least all significant versions, and I think all versions except the KJB) come down through the Catholic/Alexandrian line, a contaminated line. The KJB lineage goes back to Antioch. A lot of study has gone into this issue.

(3)  If one version is not the word of God, then there is no word of God. If there is a word of God in English, which I am convinced beyond a doubt that there is, there can only be one. All versions are different, significantly different, so they cannot all be the word of God. God said he would preserve his words. Psalms 12:6-7 (which many versions eliminate-check yours) “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Notice that the “words” are pure, not the thoughts, etc. By faith, I believe whatever God says. Every word is precisely where it is for a reason. Every word is like a piece of a puzzle-it has to be there for the puzzle to be complete. Altering the words can significantly impact the study of the precepts, since one must consider every word spoken on a topic to get a full understanding of the topic. Only the KJB is consistent and interprets itself. This is because the KJB translators set out to do a word by word translation, not an interpretation like those who interpreted the other versions. The interpretors of the other versions started with contaminated manuscripts and further contaminated them by their methods of interpretation.

(4) The Bible testifies as to its own inspiration:

(a) The writers affirm, where they speak of the subject at all, that they speak by direct divine authority.
(b) They invariably testify that the words, and not the ideas merely, are inspired. An important passage is 1 Co. 2.7-15 which is copied and pasted below.
(c) The whole attitude of Jesus Christ toward the Old Testament, as disclosed in His words, both before His death and after His resurrection, confirms its truth and divine origin, and He explicitly ascribes the Pentateuch to Moses.
(d) In promising subsequent revelations after the predicted advent of the Spirit (John 16:12-15 copied and pasted below) our Lord prepared the way for the New Testament.
(e) The writers of the New Testament invariably treat the Old Testament as authoritative and inspired. (2 Pe. 1:19-21 copied and pasted below; 1 Co 2:13 copied and pasted below with note).

1 Corinthians 2:7-15  “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.”

John 16.12-15 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

2 Peter 1:19-21  “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” Note. That is, made more sure by fulfilment in part. Fulfilled prophecy is a proof of inspiration because the Scripture predictions of future events were uttered so long before the events transpired that no merely human sagacity or foresight could have anticipated them, and these predictions are so detailed, minute, and specific, as to exclude the possibility that they were mere fortunate guesses. Hundreds of predictions concerning Israel, the land of Canaan, Babylon, Assyria, Egypt, and numerous personages–so ancient, so singular, so seemingly improbable, as well as so detailed and definite that no mortal could have anticipated them–have been fulfilled by the elements, and by men who were ignorant of them, or who utterly disbelieved them, or who struggled with frantic desperation to avoid their fulfilment. It is certain, therefore, that the Scriptures which contain them are inspired. “Prophecy came not in olden time by the will of man; but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

1 Corinthians 2.13 (It is good to read all of 1 Corinthians 2 on this matter) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”

Note.  (1) The writers of Scripture invariably affirm, where the subject is mentioned by them at all, that the words of their writings are divinely taught.
(2) 1 Co. 2:9-14 gives the process by which a truth passes from the mind of God to the minds of His people:

(a) The unseen things of God are undiscoverable by the natural man (1 Co. 2:9).
(b) These unseen things God has revealed to chosen men (1 Co. 2:10-12).
(c) The revealed things are communicated in Spirit-taught words (1 Co. 2:13). This implies neither mechanical dictation nor the effacement of the writer’s personality, but only that the Spirit infallibly guides in the choice of words from the writer’s own vocabulary (1 Co. 2:13).
(d) These Spirit-taught words, in which the revelation has been expressed, are discerned, as to their true spiritual content, only by the spiritual among believers 1 Co. 2:15-16.

Revelation 22:19  “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Proverbs 30:5-6Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.  Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Deuteronomy 4.1-2Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Psalm 138.2I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

Martyr’s Song by Watchmen

9WrittenByManThis page should have been added long ago. I am starting it on May 28, 2015. The underlying authority for all my writings, audio teaching, preaching, teaching, and living is the word of God, the KJB. That is the way it has been since I was saved.

I have heard, over the years, some ridiculous attacks on the King James Bible. The unlearned can be easily misled. Recently I came across a Youtube video claiming the KJB is a Masonic Bible. I listened to a few minutes of it and realized how ridiculous it was. Pastor Jason Cooley and Brother Nathan Marino did a radio show on this:

090615 Is the King James Bible a Masonic Mystery Religion Bible?
on sermonaudio.com;
on Youtube

The word of God proved itself to me as soon as I was saved. Of course, I did not know much about the doctrines of the word of God even though I took Bible, Old and New Testament, as elective courses in high school. However, I had come to believe the doctrine of repentance and faith, and I was saved through simple faith in those doctrines. By the way, faith is not a work (Romans 4.5). I was immediately changed.

One thing that had lingered with me since being a small child was the impression made on me by an uncle and aunt who were saved. I seldom saw them after the age of 5, but I remembered the obvious difference between them and others I came in contact with as I went through life; they were different in a good way. Their testimony which I heard after becoming an adult showed that they were very different from before their salvation. Salvation brought an immediate change in them as it did in me.

SavedOrBeingSavedAfter I was born again of the spirit, the Lord began to turn my life around. When I got into church, I became hungry and thirsty for the word of God. I no longer wanted to drink, go to social parties, and so forth. The church I was a member of became my place for fellowship and spiritual growth. In other words, the KJB proved itself to me on a deep spiritual level. That is all I need to satisfy myself that the KJB is the word of God.

Since being saved, I have heard and read much teaching on the KJB versus other “translations” issue. Why was this important? Because the issue is so prominent to believers and to non-believers. Nothing is more important than the integrity of the word of God. I had some friends whom I believe were also born again, but who did not use the KJB. I even went to church with one or two of them just a couple of times. Even though I believe they were saved, I saw that they were not being well fed. I saw that their churches did not seem to have the power of the church I went to. Later, when I started intensely studying the Bible, I learned the reasons for these things, and the reasons for the attacks on the KJB. The downward spiral of heresy, apostasy, and immorality among “Christians” in America who use “interpetations” and not the KJB has confirmed and continues to confirm what the Lord taught me – that the KJB is the word of God.

I could have already filled this page with a wealth of resources which I have come across over the years and which prove to any believer who will honestly search for the truth about the matter that the KJB is the word of God in English. I am starting out with a little and will add to this page as I have time.

To begin this page, let me start with a simple question. If you skirt it, you are not looking for the truth about this matter. Is there a word of God in English? If so, what is it? Is it the ASB, the NKJV, the NIV, The Living Bible, etc., or is it the KJB? There can only be one word of God. All the “translations” are very different. Either one of them is the word of God, or none of them is the word of God in English. There can only be one word for word translation, thereby rendering all the others “interpretations” written to uphold the beliefs of the author(s). If you say only the originals are the word of God, then there is no word of God because there are no originals.

SinIs God able to preserve his word?  “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever” (Psalms 12:6-7). Are those verses in your “Bible?” They are in my KJB.

Jeremiah 35-36 gives a great example of God’s destroyed words being rewritten. The originals were destroyed but the Lord rewrote them through Jeremiah, and the Lord even added more words. There are no originals for one to go to. That is no problem for God. When the king destroyed the words God gave Jeremiah, God gave those words to Jeremiah again. God has the ability, and has used his ability to preserve his words in the King James Bible.

Speaking to Timothy, through Paul the apostle, God said:

“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

The Bible, Old and New Testaments, in the originals contained words from a few languages. Those words were preserved and rewritten. God promised to preserve his word, not the originals. Read all of 2 Timothy 3 and 4. Those who deny the authority of the word of God do not have the power of God. They have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof; believers who are seeking the truth are to turn away from such people (2 Timothy 3:5). Yes, we are to offer them the truth, but when they reject truth (God’s word) we are told to turn away from them. This can bring sorrow and grief, especially if they are family or friend, but believers are to obey God.

Have you ever noticed that on the day of Pentecost they spoke in other tongues and people from different nations heard them in their own tongue (language)? Several languages were spoken at the same time, to people from diverse nations.

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4).

“And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born” (Acts 2:7-8).

That, my friend, was an great example of the awesome power of God, the only God, the God who controls life, nature, and all things. God can communicate in every tongue in pure words. He can preserve his word in any language. This is no hard task for the infinite God. One will never be able to convince me that such a God did not give us his word in English. Much evidence of things unseen convinces me that the KJB is God’s word in English.

Because we now have the word of God in English, speaking in other languages serves no purpose. The word of God is available in many languages. Speaking in tongues serves no purpose. Before I was saved, a lady who spoke English would come to my photography studio and start speaking in tongues. In hindsight, I believe she was a devout Charismatic. I did not offend her, but I saw the utter foolishness of her actions. She could have spoken to me so that I could have understood her. And by the way, should God wish me to speak in an unknown tongue, he could supernaturally perform it. Tongues were a gift.

NIVSatanGaySexOne cannot, from and honest understanding of the Bible, conclude that tongues is required as evidence of salvation. Nor can one depend upon his feelings or some type of supernatural experience as evidence of salvation. The Bible makes clear what is required for salvation (see God’s Plan of Salvation for Bible instructions on how to be saved) and what one’s responsibilities are after salvation (see After Salvation)(See also, Repentance, the new creature, the new life, and changed behavior for many Bible verses and other resources which explain repentance and the new creature which results from salvation.)

The Old Testament is authenticated by New Testament scriptures, too numerous to be listed here.

The Lord pre-authenticated the New Testament:

  1. He expressly declared that He would leave “many things” unrevealed (John 16:12).
  2. He promised that this revelation should be completed (“all things”) after the Spirit should come, and that such additional revelation should include new prophecies (John 16:1-33).
  3. He chose certain persons to receive such additional revelations, and to be His witnesses to them Matthew 28:19; John 15:27; 16:13; Acts 1:8; 9:15-17.
  4. He gave to their words when speaking for Him in the Spirit precisely the same authority as His own. Matthew 10:14-15; Luke 10:16; John 13:20; 17:20; see e.g. 1 Corinthians 14:37; Exodus 4:15; Revelation 22:19; Deuteronomy 4.1-2; Proverbs 30.5-6.

The Lord prayed:

  • “For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me” (John 17:8).
  • “I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world” (John 17:14).
  • “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17).

I was at a church service where the pastor used his “Bible” as he preached. His Bible was made up of the KJB on one side and an interpretation (another “Bible” version) on the other. Sometimes he read from the KJV, sometimes from the other. I noticed in my KJB that the verses he read from the other “Bible” were different. He chose the one he liked the best. In other words, to him, there was no word of God. Utter confusion. Total heresy. No wonder many American “churches” are nothing more than social clubs or nightclubs.
